While archaeological finds depicting Yahweh and Asherah together were prominent in the period up to the 7th century (the Kuntillet Ajrud inscription, which we constantly spam, depicting Yahweh with a cock and Asherah), these findings disappear after the 7th century.

Considering that all the polemics against Asherah are in the texts of the Deuteronomist school written during the reign of Josiah or in texts influenced by this school, it can be said that the goddess Asherah was a perfectly legitimate part of the Yahweh cult before Josiah’s reforms.
