Even though Judaism is passed down from the mother today, this is a concept that emerged very late and is not found in the Bible. Moreover, it is not found in the Apocryphal works written during the Second Temple period, the Dead Sea Manuscripts, the writings of Philo and Josephus, the New Testament, and Paul’s letters.
