Zoroastrianism: An Introduction by Jenny Rose (2011). A lay-friendly introduction if you are mainly looking for an overview of Zoroastrianism, or want a basic reference work. *(Find on Amazon.com) Zoroastrians: Their Religious Beliefs and Practices by Mary Boyce (1979). A summary of the defining work of modern Zoroastrian studies, and a must-read for anyone planning a serious review of the historiography of Zoroastrianism. Boyce’s work constitutes a ubiquitous point of reference for all subsequent authors. This work covers the entire history of Zoroastrianism up to the present day, but should not be relied on as a general history of pre-Islamic Iran. (Find on Amazon.com – Find on Bookshop.org) The Wiley-Blackwell Companion to Zoroastrianism edited by Michael Stausberg and Yuhan Sohrab-Dinshaw Vevaina (2015). This 700-page compendium will most likely either fill your needs on any sub-topic of Zoroastrianism, or point you in the direction of and help you engage with literature that will. (Find on Amazon.com – Find on Bookshop.org) Textual Sources for the Study of Zoroastrianism by Mary Boyce (1990). While it is not quite as comprehensive as would have been ideal, this is a collection of new translations of most of the key sources for the study of Zoroastrianism, and is a very useful reference work.
