The idea that they lived there after the Hyksos period is unknown, but there is some evidence that there is a connection between the Hyksos and the Hebrews. Peter Clayton’s book Chronicle of the Pharaohs (1994) shows that two Hyksos pharaohs had names that sounded like Jakob. There was Yakubher in Dynasty 15 and Yakobaam in Dynasty 16 (p. 93). I am not saying either of them were Jakob, but the story of Jakob in the Bible is probably a vague remembrance of something that happened. Joseph is presented in the Bible as someone who helped rule Egypt. The Hyksos actually ruled Lower Egypt. That is where the Hebrews were traditionally said to have been.
